inspired dining

04.11.12

Our dining area, if you can even call it that, leaves a lot to be desired.

We’ve got a hand-me down table – a high, four top with stools. It is great for our always-small apartments, but hopefully we’ll be able to serve a meal to our friends or family someday! It is literally impossible to fit 4 place setting on the table.

We won’t be moving into a bigger space anytime in the near future, but I still like to envision things.

When I think about my dream dining room, this is what comes to mind…

Complete with modern french doors leading towards a lush, green yard…

What would your dream dining room look like?

    That chandelier is great!

My dream dining room would be modern and fun with floor to ceiling windows. I love the idea of sitting down to dinner while looking out over an ocean or mountains!

Beautiful! I am obsessed with that table and light fixture…and well the entire thing really! I live in a loft and so our dining space is limited. I have an oblong black table with black chairs, a bright red china cabinet and an oversized drum shade pendant hanging over it. It works with our high ceilings, but I can’t wait for the day when I have a real dining room!!

I have an antique hutch and table that I love, I need to recover the chairs but can’t want to have more regular dinners actually sitting at the table.

I’m so jealous of your antique hutch!! My good friend had a hutch and table from her grandmother that she re-finished – gorgeous!

Amen, sister. I love my apartment but the dining room is teeeny. Don’t even get me STARTED on my kitchen. I’ve been known to put the cutting board on the floor due to lack of countertop space. Oh the joys of apartment living :)

    LOVE it!

I feel like I’m so indecisive that I would never be able to decorate a full room. I look in magazines and on Pinterest and I love EVERYTHING I see.

I love those slate cheese boards. So stylish and sophisticated. We live in an apartment too, so we don’t have a separate dining room but we’re lucky enough to have a pretty large main space that accommodates a fairly large table. I’m happy with what I have, but one day I would love to have a separate dining room that I can decorate in lush, dark colours and light with candles when we have dinner parties… Ahhh… :)

I got my dining room table from my old roommate who got it on Craigslist (and I think I paid her $200 for it)- it’s actually pretty nice! I have an open layout at my apartment so it’s squeezed into a corner. Meh, it works! :)

My dining area leaves something to be desired at well…because I don’t have one. Just another reason I can’t wait to move out of an apartment! I love your ideas, especially because they include cheese and wine. :)
