A few years back, I met the tasters sister Amy at a great little wine bar in Chicago and one of the items that we had was butter with various salts. I’ve never forgotten how delicious it was and I’ve been building my salt collection ever since. When the truffle salt made its way into my collection, I knew I was ready for my own butter and salt experience.

I went to my first salt tasting at Dean and Deluca in Napa. I now have a set of about 6 different salts. I love the idea of pairing them with good butter (and of course good wine.) Great idea!

That sounds great! I’m always trying to figure out things to mix with butter, but this is much simplier and I’m sure equally as tasty if not more so. I’m becoming really interested in flavored salts recently. Such simple, but intense flavor.

What a fantastic idea! I always have a ton of fancy salts (totally an obsession) and this would be such a great last minute hors d’oeuvre when friends just happen to come over. I love it!
