Food Philosophy:

Simply put, I believe in all foods in moderation. I build my meals around vegetables, lean protein, healthy fats, fruits and whole grains but I make sure to leave room for cheese, burgers and baguettes! It’s all about balance. Sometimes I eat vegetarian or vegan meals, and sometimes I eat paleo.

Why a blog?

In early 2009 I started toying around with the idea of starting a blog. I wanted to share recipes, nutrition and health tips and new exciting foods that I try. Now I’m an obsessed blogger. Looking back at old posts is hilarious as they are awful! I’ve learned a lot in the last few years…

Education:

I left a small town in Wisconsin to attend college in Minneapolis, MN which I LOVED (all but Winter) and have a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from the University of Minnesota. Go Goldy!

What I do:

Here in LA, I work for an anti-hunger nonprofit organization that I’m SO happy to be a part of. MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger has been around for over 25 years I feel incredibly blessed to enjoy my job as much as I do.

When we lived in Minneapolis, I worked in Marketing in the Natural Food Industry for an organic bakery called French Meadow Bakery.

I also spent 8 years working with a weight-loss camp for kids called Camp Endeavor. In addition to planning the menus, I adored teaching the kids how to cook and introducing them to new foods!

Life:

On September 17th, 2011 I married my favorite red-head and we moved to Los Angeles, California 2 weeks later. It was a lot of change, and it took a while to feel settled in LA, but we love it here. We wish that we could bundle up our friends and family and bring them here – we miss them lots!
